The time to accept and implement Rights of Nature
Will you take that stand with us?
By joining your voice with other knowledgeable, credible and influential people, combined with the force of the hundreds of thousands of people who have signed petitions calling for world leaders to recognize the Rights of Nature and the Rights of Mother Earth, your influence will be multiplied immensely. We delivered our first collection of signatures to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon in June 2012 at the Rio+20 Earth Summit. We will deliver the remainder when we reach our goal of 1 million. Please join us now by signing via the form below. Thank you!
We, the Global Alliance for Rights of Nature and the grassroots movement for Rights of Mother Earth invite you to stand with us at the Earth Summit Rio+20. We are formally recognizing Rights of Nature by signing to the Universal Declaration of Rights of Mother Earth. Its time has come!
All humans and other beings are part of planet Earth, an indivisible, living community of interrelated forms. However, Nature is still treated as property under current law around the world. The economic well being of society and income generating ways can no longer depend on the destruction of nature. There are alternative ways, which call forth a quantum shift in thinking and acting on a global, grassroots level.
We call upon civil society, corporations, governments and the UN, to recognize Nature as a living being, rather than seeing Nature as property a resource to be consumed and exploited. The time has come for society to restructure the fundamental framework of our governance systems as they relate to the relationship of humans and our environment.
We have collected hundreds of thousands of signatures and letters from people from around the world calling forth the acceptance and implementation of Rights of Nature by all Nations. YES to Rights of Nature by signing the Universal Declaration of Rights of Mother Earth.
Please note, this signature process is also part of the Value Nature as A Living Being petition campaign… They are the same campaign with multiple avenues for people to participate.
