Acknowledging President Correa of Ecuador

On June 21 President Rafael Correa addressed a gathering of over 200 people at Rio+20 to discuss Rights of Nature and the concept of Buen Vivir which means living in harmony with nature, with oneself and with others. Buen Vivir is presented as an alternative to the concept of development.

Watch Cormac Cullinan as he acknowledges President Correa and the countries of Ecuador and Bolivia for their leadership in implementing Rights of Nature/Rights of Mother Earth.  He also shared with President Correa the news that earlier in the day, the Rights of Mother Earth Signature Campaign had presented to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon  almost 120,000 signatures of individuals and leaders of organizations representing over 600,000 people.
